Gift Card Security Guide for Nigeria

Gift card codes can be spent by someone else once exposed. GiftCardVibe’s rate tools do not need a code, full card photo, BVN, NIN, OTP, password or bank login.

Before a quote

Identify the issuing country, currency and exact card type. Open the issuer’s help page yourself. Country restrictions can apply even when the same brand is available elsewhere: see Apple’s redemption guidance and Google Play’s country and currency rules.

Before submitting a card

Verify the buyer’s official domain and support route independently. Check the quote’s NGN amount, fees, expiry, receipt requirements and rejection process. Do not treat a social media badge, follower count or forwarded testimonial as proof of a completed transaction.

PIN and receipt privacy

Keep original photos and receipts privately. Redact codes, barcodes, unrelated purchases and identity details before asking for general advice. If the issuer requires full evidence for a support case, send it only through its verified support channel; never post it in public comments or group chats.

Payment and recovery scams

Open your bank’s own app or official channel to check payment rather than relying on a buyer’s screenshot. Be cautious if someone demands another gift card or a new payment to release a payout, unlock an account or recover a loss.

If a code has been exposed

Contact the issuer promptly through its official support page, retain receipts and messages, and report the issue through the relevant platform’s verified process. Recovery is not guaranteed. The FTC’s gift card scam guide explains common warning signs; its reporting route is US-based and does not replace local help in Nigeria.
